The tip-and-Social Security tax lie
Donalds' ad says David Jolly wants to tax tips, overtime, and Social Security. PolitiFact rated it False.
Jolly wasn't in Congress when that federal bill got a vote. Florida has no state income tax; a governor in Tallahassee has no power to tax tips, overtime, or Social Security. Those go to Washington.
The one man in this race who actually voted for that federal tax bill is Byron Donalds. He's betting you won't check.

The hurricane tax
Donalds says Jolly's insurance plan will cost every Florida family $1,000 a year. He never showed a source. His campaign pointed to an FSU study of a different bill and an op-ed column.
Jolly's plan moves hurricane and wind risk off private policies and pays for it by closing insurer tax breaks, not by billing homeowners. He projects a 60 to 70 percent premium cut.
After the 2004 and 2005 storm seasons, Citizens Property Insurance levied more than $1.5 billion in assessments on policyholders statewide. The question is whose plan sends the storm to your bill.

The Voting Rights Act falsehood
Donalds said the 1965 Voting Rights Act existed to stop Democrats from gerrymandering. PolitiFact rated it False.
The law existed because Black Americans across the South were being beaten, poll-taxed, and terrorized out of the ballot box. He got his own state's civil rights history backward, on camera, and never walked it back.

Operation Tidal Wave: who it hits
Donalds pledges to keep DeSantis's Operation Tidal Wave running: roughly 25,000 arrests statewide, jails past capacity, some law enforcement officials telling the New York Times they're uneasy.
By 10,000 arrests, DeSantis's office published the breakdown: nearly 8 in 10 came from Guatemala, Mexico, and Honduras. Better than 8 in 10 from five Latin American countries. This is enforcement pointed at Latino Florida.
